This one trick makes EVERYTHING more interesting πŸ‘€

Hey Reader,

I hate to open a newsletter talking about the weather, but holy cow, we've had the weirdest spring weather lately here in Ohio -- hot to cold, back to hot, back to cold... my sinuses and my plants have no idea what to do!

But aching sinuses aside, I wanted to drop in your inbox and share some updates today... and you might notice a new format I'm trying out, inspired by some of the magazines I've been flipping through as I'm cleaning them out of my craft room... (The great spring cleaning bug hits again... but this time, in my craft room!)

I want to try out some "reoccurring features" every week -- so let me know what you think, or what "feature sections" you would like to see every week in your inbox, in this little scrappy magazine of mine!

Create a "coordinating set" of stationary gifts with a digital scrapbooking collection.

I recently guest posted on Traci Reed Designs' blog and got the chance to show how to make a "coordinating collection" of stationary gifts -- something like this would be perfect for a DIY teacher gift for this week (Teacher Appreciation!)

Adding Visual Interest: One of my favorite ways to add visual interest to ANY project is LAYERING. I love stacking different papers and elements on top of each other and making an interesting and eye catching part of the project. I might do this with different scraps of patterned paper, with Art Starts printed on clear sticker paper, with different layers of washi tape, with different types of paper like kraft paper or vellum... or a combination of all of them! If you want to see some examples of this, check out this video I made. It's not recent but it's full of really good tips and advice!

Of course, if you want to learn EVEN MORE, be sure to check out the Visually Interesting Mini Books course, currently on sale for $6!

Free Art Starts!

Since we are talking about layering and visual interest, I thought you might enjoy a free set of my Art Starts -- grab them, print them on clear sticker paper, and layer away!

Hit reply and tell me what you've been working on this week -- what's on your crafty desk?

Scrapy love,
Allie
